Parents should assist the teachers to help their children become successful students.
The attitude parents have and convey is critical to the success of homework and school in general.
A parent’s job is to help their child choose a goal that can reached. The best goals are those that make children stretch, reach and grow-but are within their sights.
Teams have cheerleaders because visible support can help athletes reach their goal. Kids deserve the same support when they’re tackling school problems as when they’re tackling other players.
Parents can convey to their child that their expectations are for him to graduate from high school. Parents should talk frequently about how much they appreciate their own education. If a parent did not finish high school, they can talk about how that has affected them.
Don’t wait for a special program or school event if there’s a problem or if your child has any special needs. It helps teachers to help parents kids if they know everything they can about their student.
Students must have access to an environment that is positive and caring. Lending itself to being an effective climate to learn. This climate should allow a student to feel comfortable and receptive to learn and ask questions.
Parents should always have encouraging words for your child. This in return will help your child reach his or her goal beyond what they could have ever imagined.
Recognize their child’s strength and motivation for success, while enforcing that their child is responsible for achieving their own education. The parent gets them registered for school, covers food and shelter, clothing etc. It is therefore, ultimately important that the child takes it from there.
The involvement of citizens in the community surrounding the school is critical if a character education program is to succeed. Charater education programs benefit from interaction with the public because “communities sustain themselves by agreement about values and goals.
